Absolutely horrible service from this school. Little to no support is given to the children should they need it. 2021 was great but 2022 became such a nightmare for us. The experience left both me and child traumatised. Looking back, I should have taken her out of Teneo after first or second quarter of 2022 because things were really bad.
The school does not value the lives of the learners, that this is in actual a real life experience of school for them. The way I see it, the school only cares for the money and trying to front as a progressive schooling alternative.
If there was a 0 star rating, it would be too high for them. Teneo is the most frustrating institution I have ever had to deal with. Don't be fooled by their marketing of being the best. Administration/accounts wise, you will pull your hair out! I've been trying to sort things out for months and my child isn't even a student of theirs anymore. There is no email or call options for assistance, you have to log tickets on their system which yields nothing. They just ghost you and are the masters of the system generated auto replies. 1000% do not recommend them!
Absolutely useless and as far as i am conecerned a total SCAM!!!! My daughter has neen robbed of a whole year of schooling as she now has to repeat grade 8 because her 4th term aggregate was 2%.... How is that even possible???? I witnessed her writing every single exam and she studied very hard only to get 2%..... I did not receive a 2nd or 3rd term report and had to fight for a 4the term report only to get that....impossible!!! Cant get through to anyone via phone or e-mail or any other communication portals which are supposedely available. I am totally disappointed and disgusted by TENEO!!!!!
Sadly after 2 previous years of good service from this school and happy learners things have drastically taken a turn for the worst this year. You do not get a reply on any of the platforms that are offered for lodging queries. Emails, WhatsApps, phone calls and tickets lodged on the Family portal all remail unanswered. I am really getting dispondant now as we are in the second week of the term and we still have problems with classes clashing and access to open SBA courses denied.
Even if you make arrangements regarding fees if you r behind they will still take access sway. This has a huge impact on your child falling behind and they will not even give extensions on sba once payments have been made. Your child will do badly and teachers they don't care if the child performance has dropped. None of the teachers will even question, so it's about getting paid and not caring about the child future. I will not advise any parent to take their child to Teneo maybe other online school.
My child missed two terms due to school fees because of financial situation. Even when I pleaded with the school to give me his report in January so I can remove my child to the public school since I can't afford the fees because I lost my job, they refused and I'm stuck with the school. He started in Mach. Third term he stayed home for five weeks because they expelled him from their system again. This is so frustrating because you also can't speak to anyone who will listen to your concerns and put the child future first. School performance is back, Service bad, some of the teachers bad, I can list name because I'm always listening to my son classes.

I joined Teneo this year and so far I love it! I have been in a brick and mortar school for most of my life but decided to change to online schooling and so far it is the best decision I made with my education. I read some other reviews and I must say that the communication issues have improved, as I have required assistance before and got a response within the hour. Canvas is easy to understand, I found that the "Canvas 101" canvas training course definitely helps you to figure out where everything is. The only thing is that within the first week of school courses are still loading and so you might not be able to access them right away. I think the teachers are great and always willing to help and explain things if you don't understand or aren't sure, more than what I experienced at a brick and mortar school. The SBAs can be overwhelming at times but realistically it was the same at a brick and mortar school, if not worse as I had less time to complete them all. The only downside is if you are behind in school fees, they will prevent you from accessing your courses, which can be frustrating in a financial situation, but I can also understand as some people might abuse being allowed to continue without payments. I think most people base their bad reviews on a bad experience, which happens at other schools as well, and don't give themselves the chance to settle in and adjust. I understand that an online school won't be for everyone but if you are interested I recommend definitely checking it out.

All students have a lot of SBA's all the teachers know that so the math teachers go and say submit your homework how are we supposed to do it if we have a long list of SBA's then if you don't submit they will email your parents and you will get into trouble and your parents will shout at you. Then in the next math class the teacher will shout at you.
Teneo is not good my child is having to do so much of SBA's this term he can't even rest the only time he can rest is when he is sleeping what the hell are they thinking. This is not how a school operates.
when I'm in class and don't understand a question the teacher would get angry. when I tell the teacher she's going to fast she says I should be faster, mind you this is a FAL class and I'm not that good. I'm not Flash and I don't even understand half the content. now I'm too scared to even ask a question because I feel like I would be shouted at.
Teneo is a good school for children that have problems learning but at soon as you have a problem to do regally payments to accounts they block you account and then treat you like a very bad person you can explain to them that you have a financial crisis still - the lady that I have talk to have no manners she just start shouting at you as you are a bad person - and then if you told them that you have pay a big amount they will still try to blame you that you have not done it. I really think they must put one person per student account then it will be resolve sooner and then you can talk to that one person and he or she can assist you with the problems you have.
We joined Teneo in Jan 2021 during the Pandemic. My daughter migrated from a private brick school that really pushed academically, so she fit in well with Teneo. A bit of an adjustment in the first term but she was flying high with distictions soon enough. She LOVES Teneo. Teneo is not for everyone. If your child is not an INDEPENDENT worker, not TECH SAVVY and if you cannot afford an INVERTER, then Online School is not for you. In 18 months we only contacted teacher twice. Both times assisted within 24 hours. No issues. Tech Support is on the ball as well.

I'm currently in TENEO. The content is great and the schooling is much better than impaq, but it's a shame that you have to contact 5 different people just to get help with one problem. And no one responds fast. I had to wait one whole night just to get an answer that wasn't very helpful. Sometimes I don't even get a reply at all. I wish TENEO would change this problem.
I thought online school was going to be a good idea but the school treats you like a number. some of the teachers don't even help you when you don't understand something. the beginning of 2022 is a mess. people didn't have their courses and couldn't attend their classes. they give us assignments without the SBA courses being loaded. we constantly check if they are there but they aren't. don't take your child to teneo, it will stress them out. the school even partnered with a mental health app because they know that students are struggling. DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS TO TENEO.
This is THE WORST school ever. I’m in grade twelve this year (2022). I have written Teneo multiple emails and have also phoned them multiple times because I can’t login to the schools platform. It’s February 2nd today and I have not been able to join a SINGLE class because they’re not helping me or replying to my emails. How do they expect me to pass this semester/year?! I can’t even move to another school because my mom already paid them. If you care about your childs education DO NOT send them to Teneo.
This school is so unorganized and you should find tasks in your sba courses and some of them dont open 1 and 2 they sometimes put in in the "anouncements" and it should not show there because they spicifically have a place for the tasks... I DO NOT RECOMEND
Currently not the no1cloud school.. Better to name it no1 Clown School. With all due respect to the tech team who are always friendly and willing to assist and there are some fabulous teachers.. Unfortunately the school does not have all systems in place for the academic year to start for the Matrics.. Courses not appearing, classes clashing subjects loaded but no classes. SBAs are being sent.. How are the kids especially in matric expected to cope with such a lot of frustration.Daily there are issues..
Teneo please place yourselves in the kids shoes and try and understand what they are going through with this mess you are having with the system. 😠😠
Do not join this school. They take forever to respond to messages, and they don't take criticism well. When you call them out on what they are doing wrong, they respond with extremely rude and sarcastic responses.
Their service is mediocre at best. I must admit, there were a few teachers who were absolutely amazing. Yet at the same time there were teachers who couldn't be bothered to be nice to students. I also had a teacher in Gr.11 who had no idea about the subject he was supposed to be teaching us (luckily we had a genius kid in class who helped us all).
It feels to me and several other students that they only care about marketing their business to get more student enrollments and money. Their systems can't handle the amount of students, and last year us matrics suffered through it because we struggled to receive our marks on the date that the school said we would.
so far bad start of the school year. I am suppost to start on the 18th jan 2022 in grade 9 but they did not upload my courses or zoom for lessons. It takes ages to reach support and connect. All of us kids and teens are waiting for hours. I really hope I don't have to go to a day school due to the lack of timely support. Looks like tge school is starting later than the DBE date. Just come out of distance learning with english curriclum and thought this would be better. What will I do. They left me hanging and spolit the day. What a waste of time
I am only a high school student but I was treated like a university student. I was forced to write my maths exam on 7:30pm at night. I got zero for that exam though because the power went out and they refused to give me another chance. I had many other bad experiences but it's take too long to name them all
The concept is great, however the lack of support is atrocious. Email queries are passed around and it could be days before you receive a response. There is no sense of pressure from their side to assist. You're a number and they will get back to you when they feel like it. They obviously don't do this with everyone as they have good reviews but beware of you are one of the unlucky ones.
