St Barnabas Independent School

St Barnabas Independent School is a small school that offers learners the valuable opportunity to receive individual attention from their teachers. This is especially beneficial, as in larger schools learners may feel too shy to ask questions or admit when they do not understand, which can cause them to fall behind. At St Barnabas, teachers know each learner’s strengths and weaknesses and actively encourage them to reach their full potential. While it is not always possible to meet every parent and learner’s expectations, the staff genuinely strive to do their best and support each child’s growth.

I am the former principal of St Barnabas and feel compelled to comment, especially in view of the fact that the only comment here is probably from someone who was excluded from the school and therefore has a grudge. The school will be having its 25th anniversary next year and they are still doing a great job. Fantastic staff who are kind but also firm when necessary, following consistently a very fair code of conduct to ensure others are treated with respect and decency and that good standards are maintained. I have seen so many students, who had lost hope in themselves and the education system, regain confidence and a desire to learn. The school has also maintained a consistent 100% matric pass for many years while working with learner of varying abilities, even those some other schools have written off. I am so proud of the students and staff of St Barnabas. May St Barnabas continue to be a beacon of hope, encouragement and kindness.
