The school fees are way too high for what's offered at this school. It is not worth it
The teachers at Seekers Private High School are not good. There are only 9 teachers managing grade 8 to 12. Some lack the ability to manage learners. Some of the teachers here are very unprofessional, there have been reports of one teacher coming to school drunk frequently and concerns of another who has used fraud multiple times in order to get learners to pass. Most of the teachers are miserable and overly strict, often unwilling or unable to teach effectively, which affects the learning environment. The staff is antagonistic and rude, and are very strict about sending messages to parents about their child for any minor reason.
The school environment is miserable because of a few things:
1. Teachers are extremely strict. Some kick learners out of class for the entire lesson if they are late or if they were unable to complete their homework.
2. There's a lack of furniture. Learners frequently have to scavenge for chairs and tables in between lessons.
3. Learners and teachers are not allowed to use the installed AC units.
4. At break time learners are unable to buy anything except sweets as food is not served at the tuck shop regularly.
5. Learners face severe punishment for having a phone on them. Teachers confiscate the phones, put them in a box and walk down rail street to the primary school, which poses high risk of theft, and then they lock it in a safe where learners have to pay R400 to get it back.
6. There are zero sports available at the school. Learners who bring soccer balls to play often risk having them confiscated randomly and there are zero extracurricular activities for learners to enjoy.
For R3800 per learner per month, this is a terrible school to put your child in.
The Staff especially admin staff are very unprofessional nasty and rude. some of the teachers are not well trained. they do not discipline the teachers. they are racist
there is no proper communication with parents
