Great yet bad
The best school in the world!!! Amazing school, grounds, staff, learners and buildings. My problems
Environment.
Both toxic and some classrooms unclean. My sons came from a primary school where they cleaned each classroom every day (both students and support staff) some of these classrooms are horrific. Especially the ones at Pollock campus. Some learners are very racist and unnecessarily rude.
Teachers
These teachers hate younger grades/form cuz of form/grade privilege. Quite stupid I must say. Respect all learners.
Culture and academics
Spent more money on theses. Get new textbooks and better/more cultural events. Public speaking and Choir get a lot of love. Yet debating, business club, and so on. Get next to nothing.

There is simply no school like “The School On The Hill”. The energy and spirit at this institution is electric and the physical appearance of the enormous beautiful grounds is such out of a movie.
With the schools aim of producing well rounded individuals with a cultural, academic and sporting appreciation, you cannot go wrong. There is no school like this in the world, truely a great experience for students and visitors, you will be able to feel the energy.

Room for improvement
The school's efforts to uphold the ethos and values is commendable. Excellent extramural curriculum. Teachers are generally well trained but lack diverse teaching styles. The school really needs to address the discrimination and division within the student body. The classroom is often a hostile environment for minority groups.

The school is great, if you are a border you will have a tough first few weeks but love it in no time, there is lots of culture, traditions and students have respect and honor, not a better school in the world

Pretoria boys high school is amazing school. I enjoy the school but I do wish a few things could change. The education system is wonderful. The way the boys act around female teachers, homophobia and discrimination towards LGBTQ+. Will admit it has gotten better. In terms of racial discrimination, there isn’t but the school could educate the boys on equality, in gender, sex , sexual orientation. One of my friends is bullied every single day by the same people because he is openly feminine. There are a fair share of boys and staff who aren’t discriminative towards women, gender, sexual orientation etc. As student of the school I would say it is a good school but not everything is perfect

Boys High is probably the best school in the world
School is not bad not a system...great educational purposes and also great sport which is well rounded. Is a school with great moral values and respect as well individuals growing in a brotherhood. Some things are not resolved with the system...in terms of bullying and racism as well even though there is a minimum of it. Systems of bullying have come up but boys do not consider it seriously or is not referred properly and yet it is not in use. The school isn't a bad school it could just be a greater in certain parts but overall they are doing quite well in their department.
Everyday is a new experience
Tis here we learn to live. The school's motto which does not lie. As a student I have made friends that will last forever and learnt amazing lessons from the teachers. I proudly say I go to Boys High and one day hope to send my son there.

As an old boy i love the school but I do not understand how they run it especially in the boarding houses. Older forms bully and push around the younger guys and they can easliy get away with it. I dont expect there to be no bullying in hostel, but they can atleast try. Every excuse is that he is older or he has more privlages which is another thing that i dont understand.
There are all these traditions that are so so old fashioned and relate to the 1900's. Also many of these traditions only improve the lives of the older grades and they younger people must or it seems that they must suffer until they get there. The only plus is that it is an achivement to finsih at such a big schol but i dont support how they run it. When you just arrive you feel so happy but as your first year goes on, you lose hope and wonder if it is even worth it to try and get to the finish line. They say that is how it is in life but I think highschool should be the peak of your life and you should enojy it your best.
