Pearson high biased

It is with utmost disgust that a school of supposedly a high calibre openly admit to being biased when viewing school applications. I have applied for more than one school however when I enquired the reasoning behind my rejection for my daughter after showing them that I applied on time, the academic marks are good and she’s involved in sport the principal PA tells me I should be grateful I got a response and they still have applications to view. So if I applied in the first week of applications how is it that I got rejected yet they still viewing. Pearson high…what are u running ? A school or a business? I requested a meeting with the principal and she just won’t let me see her instead she letting the staff answer on behalf of her. I want to know the reasons: The letter as confirmed by the PA is bull. I will not rest until I have answers…To those parents who received rejection letters already please know they still viewing applications. The principal is hiding and will not see me.

Teachers not adequately equipped

The teachers see their role as a job only. Going the extra mile to assist is not part that is praticed.
Bullying is alive i have witnessed it with a family member, knoe the culprits, reported it, and still nothing was done.
So sink or swim as a review below put it is par for the course as the educators are not equipped to handle, punish and solve these issues.

Prison and brutal

I am a current student at Pearson and the only thing I can say is, if you have the option to go to another school, go to that other school because there is a lot going on at the same time. They do not care about the mental well-being of their students. I have lost count of how many times I have cried and had mental breakdowns. They expect way too much from their students, while they only focus on their top 10 students. So if you are not academically or sports gifted, DO NOT GO to Pearson.
There is no reason for them to have an Adventure day after the exams. It is unnecessary and a strain mentally and physically. We are on our third week of exams, next week is the last, and we are tired and need to rest. We don't need an adventure day to bond with people we have known since grade 8, 9, 10 and this year.

Helped Cover Up My Embarrassing Leaks

I had some really embarrassing videos I sell leak but it’s been fairly covered up since Pearson is so strict and my parents are rich. Also I totally changed what I looked like hair color and everything and somehow no one even noticed.

Pearson High School

If you send you child to Pearson be aware that even though the motto is "We do our best" it is not the ethos of the school. They have taken on the slogan "Pearson, a school of excellence." What does this mean for the average student? They think they are useless as only attention is paid to those who are high achievers. If you want your child to have a well-rounded education where they get the chance to participate in everything don't choose to go here. When you go on the tour of the school you see amazing facilities, only for use my those who are "excellent" there is not time or space given to other learners.

Brutal

Pearson is tough, there are some wonderful people there staff and students alike BUT the school feels like a prison, it’s suffocating.Pearson throws all its energy into sport and unless you are a top 10 academic and an exceptional athlete you are nothing, Pearson is full of superiority, and is still deeply rooted in outdated ways, and like I said the students aren’t a problem.
They don’t care, to them the school is a business and it’s just as ruthless.

Sink or swim

Very academically focused. It is a big school so if you can’t handle the pressure...perhaps another school is for you. Pearson is sink or swim, even though there are some golden teachers there.

Pearson high school

I went to Pearson for 2 years and left because of the teachers and unnecessary rules , unless you're not the best in sport or not the smartest in your class or not rich you're nothing at that school and get treated poorly, Pearson high school doesn't care about their pupils and what they have to say or do in life they just care about their picture and they want everyone else to think they're perfect, I wouldn't recommend Pearson.

The school of excellence

An excellent school. Just by the way they welcomed us on the open eventing, I begged my parents to apply to this school. Not only is the school for the academic and sporting people but a place for everyone from art and design to robotics and many more fun and exciting activities. The school tries their best motivate their learners to be their best and do their best as stated in our motto. Maxime du opera. During assembly the school makes us watch motivational videos to give us that little bit of encouragement and that sense of belonging as well as addressing problems in the school such as bullying, etc. Above all that you have an amazing staff who always give 110% at all times to ensure we do well. Pearson offers support classes during the term for everyone wanting to attend and support classes during exams to ensure all work is revised and caught up on. I know Pearson was the best possible school I could've chosen and I know you will too. 👍🏽

The Pearson Prison

Teachers think they are running a prison and not giving children a chance to speak about problems in the school and don't address the fact that deputies try and make life difficult by inforcing rules that don't make sense at all. The only people that say that Pearson is a great school are the teachers pets. NO PLACE FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT!!

Pearson High school

It is a school full of bullying through learners and students, how Pearson works is if you don't play the best sports or have the best grades or if you don't have a mansion as a house you go unnoticed and when you are unnoticed the teachers and learners bully you. You won't get far in that school. The school is like a brick wall, if you look different you don't fit in.

Definitely the best you’ll get

I am in my final year at Pearson and I can truly say I would never have chosen another school in the Port Elizabeth area. Pearson focuses on academics, sport and culture. This is present with the new classrooms always being introduced with state of the art equipment, the hiring of passionate staff members where many are always willing to talk to you and help whether it’s regarding academics or any other issues you may be having and that I believe is the most important aspect of school which is definitely present at Pearson.
Pearson has incredible sporting facilities that are always maintained as well as having various bands that musical students can be a part of. There are various clubs and society’s at Pearson and there is always a society for someone.
Academic results are always impeccable as Pearson always produces top achievers in the Eastern Cape.
Pearson is definitely the best school for academics and I believe culture too. Our rugby is a little behind compared to other schools however you can see the school is working hard to improve the teams. Soccer unfortunately is no longer a sport at Pearson however our netball, hockey, tennis and waterpolo is some of the best in the area
