Overberg High School

I really enjoyed Ovies. They laid the foundation for many good things in my life. They have excellent teachers who will gladly walk the extra mile for a student. They teach excellent values. They excel in academics and sport.

Brilliant. A school where teachers spend overtime helping struggling students and actually form relationships with their students. You can see and feel that it's not just a job, because they truly have a passion to help children (especially the strict teachers) . A place where you can find yourself surrounded by positive support from adults. My favourite thing about Overberg High School is that they are value driven. Our value tree consists of a trunk of Respect, because everything else is rooted in respect. Our branches are Friendliness, Eagerness, Pride, Honesty and Loyalty. I would never want to change the high school I went to. "Vra die kenners... Die Ovies is Wenners."

The school sports is not good at all. Don't go if you want to go for sport, the school is mostly focused on academics. The school has no "gees" at all, your school life will be boring. There is no traditions. The outside of the school is not taken care of, the buildings does not look good. They don't give acknowledgement to children who have achieved something, you have to fight for it.

It's a decent school, they only lack one problem and that's development. The school should embrace changes and make changes themselves.

The school is an excellent institution of learning but their lack of appreciation for the arts such as painting, drawing and writing is not as celebrated as much as sports.
