It is not a Waldorf school. The principles shared on the website are not upheld from my experience. The teachers are not properly trained in Waldorf ways and problem children are labelled naughty and unsupported, to the point that teachers focus on the problem child and the whole class suffers. Problems are not dealt with instead blame is pushed back at the person/parent sharing the problem and looking for a solution. There is a clear hierarchy in the school. Waldorf parents are not wanted. It should not bear the name Waldorf. A curriculum does not warrant the name, its the application of the curriculum and teachings that matters. The head of the school is the head of the SA Waldorf Federation so there is no accountability person/association that can be sought. It is very sad and concerning. There is no other school in JHB because several years ago a decision was made to expand the school instead of create a new one. This is concerning, in CT there are 11 schools... does it make sense. Does anyone care?
