Discrimination and Professional Conduct at Liverpool Secondary School
I am writing this review to express deep concern regarding the treatment of my sister, a student at Liverpool Secondary School, during the 2024 academic year. While I understand that schools face many challenges, the handling of student well-being, especially in sensitive situations, should always be a top priority. Unfortunately, this has not been the case here.
It is deeply troubling that both the school administration and certain staff members appear to show little regard for the emotional and psychological well-being of students. More specifically, we are appalled by the conduct of a Life Orientation teacher, Miss Seedat, who served as a replacement teacher during 2024.
This teacher reportedly refused to mark my sister’s work and even wore gloves when handling her books due to her medical status—behavior that is not only discriminatory but deeply dehumanizing. Furthermore, she allegedly made inappropriate comments regarding my sister's foster care situation, which is completely unacceptable and constitutes a violation of her dignity and privacy.
Discrimination of any kind has no place in an educational environment, especially not from educators who are meant to foster inclusion, empathy, and support. The school's failure to address these issues sends a damaging message about its stance on student rights and equal treatment.
This matter will not be ignored. We intend to report the incident to the relevant educational authorities to ensure accountability and to advocate for a safer and more inclusive environment for all learners. My sister, and every other child in this system, deserves to be treated with respect—regardless of their health status or personal circumstances.
Liverpool Secondary, your students deserve better. We sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously, and that measures are taken to prevent such situations from occurring again in the future.
I don’t knw school’s discipline is extremely bad absolutely no sport activities no effort taken in finding a principal for 1 year. Students had physically chased away a deputy principal by means of spraying her with a fire hydrant. No sport activity’s have been introduced from 3 years. Teachers come and go like money. NO FURTHER EXPLANATION FOR THIS
