Laudium Secondary School

This school seems far more focused on protecting its image than addressing the actual experiences of its learners. Problems such as bullying, disorderly behaviour, and students repeatedly breaking rules do not always appear to be dealt with properly, and in some cases seem to be overlooked. What is especially disappointing is the lack of effective communication and action when learners raise concerns. A school should be a safe and respectful environment where students feel heard and protected, rather than a place where problems are brushed aside to maintain a good public image.

My experience with this school has been extremely disappointing, mainly because of the poor planning and lack of communication between staff and learners. Important information is often not communicated clearly or on time, which creates unnecessary confusion, frustration, and stress. There also appears to be unfair and biased treatment from the principal. Decisions do not always seem to be made fairly or consistently, which can make learners feel that their concerns are not being taken seriously. The office staff are another major concern. Their attitude towards learners can be rude and unhelpful, making it difficult to approach the office when assistance is needed. Learners should be treated with basic respect and professionalism, regardless of the situation.

The principal was bad and a he is a racist. During interview he was saying it's his school and that school is a government school

It's one of the best schools I've been too...most of the teachers there are so kind and understanding and the school actually helps one to obtain good marks

I will be matriculating in Laudium secondary after completing grade 8-11 thus far. My school emblem speaks for itself, knowledge conquers. People look down upon my school as the fees aren't as high as the schools around us and we are a multi-racial, but many students come to our teachers for tuition. Every learner is provided with a support system and educators even come to school on a Saturday to work with learners who require and would like more out of their lessons. I would have never chosen to change to any other school, and still would not. Despite the current COVID-19 situation my teachers are still doing their utmost best to communicate with us through Whatsapp and individual subject websites that they created to help us. Former students return to our school and help build or maintain the recreational facilities because that's the impact that Laudium Secondary has had on them. Every Wednesday students take part in groups and partake in using the various parts of the school dedicated to recreational and team building activities. As for bullying, just like every school we tend to face this issue, but thankfully we have a full-time social worker who is there to help us to grow, handle situations and vent and every matter is regarded as serious because thankfully my school regards our mental well-being as an important role of our success. I personally have encountered a situation (I was bullied), but as soon as I spoke on this matter things were dealt with and my bullies became my friends... We began to understand each other and how pressure changes us. This school made me a better person and I'll forever be thankful to my teachers, classmates and every person who helps maintain the school ; as they never fail to greet you with a smile.
