Absenteeism of teachers and hygiene in classrooms.
As a parent of learners attending the school,I'm really worried about our foundation phase learners.I have a child that's in Grade 1 and every each day she comes home extremely dirty(grey long pants,dri-mac/jersey and school bag),and when I asked why she's dirty she'll tell me that they were divided. This division thing has been happening since middle of last term and even now it's still happening.Last week Tuesday at the school meeting they were talking about our children being absent, yet it seems the teachers are more absent than the learners. The children complain about being divided everyday and even ask us the parents if they can not go to school the next day because the teachers are always absent. Can the school also find a solution of this dirty classrooms, because when our children get divided they are told to sit on the dirty floors.A child is supposed to wear their uniform for 2days but our divided kids always wear it for 1day because it's extremely dirty from the sandy dirty floors. Now it's during winter season, and always ask ourselves that are our kids again going to sit on the classrooms dirty floors that can cause them to be infected by flu/fevers as some other kids have allergies too as their immune system is not strong. As parents I think we can contribute to getting atleast 3 brooms,3 mops and a 5 litre bucket of pine gel for the hygiene of classrooms.
