Johannesburg Muslim school has got to be one of the most rotten schools there is. From the corruption, favoritism, classism, and the actual bullying from teachers is actually outrageous.
Where do I begin?
There is pedophilia, if female students don't show interest or engage in worldly and topics unrelated to school with male teachers, they're punished in passive methods; being shun, constantly picked on, embarrassed infront of the class, and the teaching constantly having it out for you, meaning they'd get you into trouble for absolutely nothing, get you demerits, get you sent to the office for absolutely. nothing.
Secondly, if you as a student are not in some sort of relation to someone on the board or faculty, you're basically nothing. Meaning teachers will treat you badly, you aren't given favours like the favorite children.

Thirdly, If a teacher is simply jealous of you and has it out for you, don't doubt for a second, they will make your life hell. Many kids have been suspended and even EXPELLED just for simply being 'unliked' by a teacher, they will cook up an issue about you, and target you only and make sure that your record is completely destroyed. They've done this to countless students going into grade 12 who were then left without schooling as nobody accepts matriculants.

Yes you heard right, teachers actually get jealous of certain students, especially on the girls campus, where girls are picked on, embarrassed infront of assemblies, called in to the office, all for silly things like wearing earrings UNDERNEATH their burka's, growing into their uniforms (yes students are even body shamed), wearing the wrong length of socks, not tying your scarf the way they are satisfied with.
The boys campus is much worse, as teachers actually side with bully prefects, and get kids suspended and even expelled due to sheer dislike and over the smallest things.

Forget your child's education and up bringing, at JMS, your child is meant to stand in the freezing cold outside of the school If they are a minute late; where your child has to cue outside of school, be inspected by male teachers for their uniforms and how they are dressed in order to enter. If your child's hair is an inch off, they are sent back home.

The uniform is constantly changing, therefore if a child is seen wearing a jacket from 3 years ago, or simply kids who cannot afford to keep buying new uniforms wearing their older sibling's older uniform, they are given punishments parents are even called in.

At JMS, teachers are free to bully children and kick them out of their classes, grd 10's and 11's are forced to drop their desired subjects If they are struggling, they have NO say in the matter.

These points I've made are not even the tip of the ice burg. There is so much of politics, abuse, favoritism, neglect, pedophilia, toxic masculinity that takes place on a daily.

There are countless years of JMS matric graduates that all have a story. Each and every current student is unhappy in some way or the other. There are even first hand stories of teachers and student teachers being bullied by male teachers. There are even stories of parents being bullied and insulted for not being of South African nationality.

There is currently no principal, as nobody wants to be running this corrupt school. Therefore there are a group of unqualified teachers who think they are running the school, they have taken it upon themselves to fire whom they'd like and expel anyone.

They claim that this is an Islamic school, but not a single Islamic value is taught or reflected.

JMS is a decent school I have been a student over there and the teacher are a 6/10 i have experienced the teachers attitude some teachers don’t respect the children and some do so I overall rate it a 7/10

JMS is a decent school with teachers who have much experience but for me I think that they don’t really teach properly , the classrooms as well as the facilities are poor and quite old and rundown . I don’t suggest coming to the school because the education is decent yet the overall experience is just terrible

Johannesburg Muslim School is an institute that makes its students develop mixed emotions regarding it in general . Overall here’s what you need to know :
-Some of the top students in the province have come out of this institute almost every year.

-The quality of teaching really does vary depending on the teacher But overall it’s good , some teachers are excellent mentors who know the content very well and know how to teach , unfortunately these teachers cannot teach in a large variety of ways as the board prohibits any creative teaching . A few teachers only teach for the sake of earning a salary but fear not
I GUARANTEE you that all of our Head of department personal will always fix any issues regarding the teaching and are always supportive towards ensuring a good teaching system . All our Department Heads are very professional .

-However , 99 % of teachers don’t know how to reach the students’ hearts and truly connect with the students.

- Extra Activities ? Non-existent unless invited particularly to an event but there is literally no extra activities to help develop students

- Facilities? Current facilities in Fordsburg are bad but the new property the school purchased is very promising .

-Segregation is established very strongly in the school to such an extent a wall was built in the middle of the school to prevent female and male learners from interacting .

- Community?
Girl’s campus : medium good—horrible( depends if you ‘fit’ in ) , bullying is a constant and huge issue .

Teachers : Some are friendly and welcoming , others don’t really care .

Boys Campus : good— medium ( depends )
Bullying isn’t a problem I’m the higher grades such as 9-12 And making friends is easy , just greet someone and ask for their name and presto , friends . Any grades below 8 can be seen as horrible as well as bullying is a constant.

Board Members of the School :
ABSOLUTELY Bad , the board is sexist and never allows females within their ranks .
They pay the female teachers less than the males for sexist reasons.
