Hope Fountain Combined College

Our experience with this school has been extremely disappointing, especially when it comes to how bullying is handled. My little sister is a new learner at the school, and unfortunately, she has been experiencing ongoing bullying and body shaming from other learners. She has repeatedly complained about what is happening, and as her family, we have also gone to the school several times to raise our concerns and try to resolve the situation. On more than one occasion, we were told that the teachers would deal with the matter and that it would be resolved. However, despite bringing the issue to their attention, the bullying has continued and has now become worse. The situation has affected my sister to the point where she sometimes does not want to go to school. She has also started feeling negatively about her body and has talked about wanting to lose weight because of the comments being made about her. As a family, this is extremely concerning and upsetting to see. The latest incident was particularly disturbing when she was called a “prostitute” by another learner. We find this completely unacceptable and believe that language like this should be taken seriously, especially when there have already been repeated complaints about bullying. What is most disappointing is that we have tried to handle the matter through the school before writing this review. We approached the teachers because we believed they would take our concerns seriously and protect our sister. Unfortunately, we feel that the response has not been sufficient, and the continued bullying makes us question whether our complaints are being taken seriously. A school should be a place where learners feel **safe, respected and supported**, not a place where they are made to feel ashamed of themselves or afraid to attend. We sincerely hope the school takes this feedback seriously and improves the way bullying complaints are handled. We are not looking for special treatment for our sister. We simply expect her, like every other learner, to be treated with dignity and to have a safe environment in which to learn. Our family has tried to resolve this matter directly with the school, but unfortunately, we have reached a point where we feel that our concerns need to be heard publicly and addressed properly.

They literally don't FLIPPIMG care about the learners my son came home crying because the teacher punished him for no flipping reason!If you want a school with bad teaching barely any time for break and a school with teachers who don't care about education or health or about pain of children this is the best school

This is the worst school I can refer to anyone. It's a pity because my child is already in Grade 12. I lost a job some time last year and did notify the school but continued to make small payments where I can. This year my financial situation improved and I went to make payment arrangements with them. Today my son comes back home saying that he will not be allowed in class tomorrow. That moment I am making payments to catch up and be current at the same time. That time, our kids are being taught by drunkards who even drink in school premises.There's a lot I can say about this school but my anger is taking over my emotions.

Very bad school. They frustrated our children with school fees if you are owing. They have small classes with lots of kids inside. Always changing teachers and principals.
