My experience…
The academics in “Die Hoërskool Menlopark” is outstanding, but the peers are under loads of stress and pressure because of those high standards being set for them, they are constantly reminded what happens to those who fail. In their eyes you are a number/persentage and not a name. They demand respect from the students, but in all honesty respect is earned not given, they assume that because they are older they automatically get that respect without giving anything in return sometimes not even a little decency and understanding. The 5 years in this school has been the best but also the absolute worst years of my life.

Lack of attention to childrens individual needs..They run the school like a system and place you inside of a “box”. If you are a human being who wants to strive for greatness staying in this “box” is not an option but once you get out of the box you are immediately criticized and spoken of as a bad person..They do not know how to handle children whatsoever

Terrible
The school teaches the girls that it is THEIR problem if the boys look up their skirts when they go upstairs or bend over. So glad i left this school
Worst school
Worst school in South Africa,everything is about money and the school's reputation. Would never want to put my Children in this school, the teachers are bigger bullies than the children. They buy themselves out of tough situations and bribe kids with money to tell the truth. They care more about appearance than marks. They push themselves into a child's personal life.

Outdated school
A school that values education and sport above all. Student's mental health aren't considered. A school filled with racism, sexism, homophobia. Would not recommend! If you can't fit into a "perfect" little box you'll have hell.

Die Hoërskool Menlopark is one off only a few schools who have mastered the art of balancing : academics , sports ,culture as well as social-activities that is of a World-class standard.
Although the schools performs exceptionally well on all the above mentioned activities , academics is still the first priority for all learners.
Excelsa Petamus ( Strive for the highest) The school motto which every pupil lives by and is driven by the teachers and fellow pupils to reach this goal.

Great school
Menlopark is a great school with wonderful facilities and opportunities. Staff are highly qualified, some even have Doctorates. The school has a great system in place for educating children. The environment is wonderful for learning and growing. The only problem is that children are highly pressured to achieve. The school has a busy schedule and I find that many of the students are overwhelmed and stressed. Still a pretty magnificent school.
