Hoërskool Klerksdorp

This school does not care as much about it’s students as it claims. If you don’t do sports ( more accurately, don’t strive in sports ) or if your parents aren’t wealthy, you are NOTHING in this school. The pupils don’t want to befriend you if you aren’t rich, and the teachers won’t like you if your parents don’t bribe them. I did NOT have a pleasant experience in this school and I know for a fact there are multiple people who feel this way. The prefects were chosen based on the wealth of the parents or the popularity of the child, not because the child will make an actual difference. Most of the prefects didn’t deserve their position as they contributed NOTHING and they were mean towards the other pupils. The school does nothing about bullying or children who look down on others. There are way too many mean people and he teachers don’t actually mean it when they say “there is nothing like a dumb question”. They will actually get angry if you ask something you don’t fully understand. The cafeteria is too overpriced. And I can’t express enough how some children are NOTHING in this schools eyes if you aren’t wealthy or excellent in sport. This school is VERY unfair towards it’s pupils and the teachers and faculty definitely pick favorites and looks down on others. If I had the choice I would have NEVER come to this school !

It is a school filled with rich tradition and amazing people but there is a discipline and respect problem in the school and complaining doesn't help much because it doesn't amount to any change. My personal experience is that there is a hierarchy of children based on economic and social status. I hope that there will be action taken about the above named problems.

This is a totally fun school.The teachers are the best their fun and treat everyone with respect they help you where help are needed.This school has a great repetation in sports and I personaly think they are the best.I had the greatest 5 years at Klerksdorp High school and I couldn't have choosen a better school.
