Hoërskool Jeugland

Jeugland has it's bad and good but the bad sadly overpowers the good in the school.
Teachers get picked to teach grades and/or subjects they have never taught before and dont know how to teach them and teach them on a way higher based curriculum to the extent that when the kids fail teachers say they have tried everything but have barely done anything about it.
Teachers do not ask you if you understand they simply just move on to the next fraction of work.
Most of the teachers show up 10-15 minutes late the once someone had to go fetch our teacher out of the smoking area.
And don't forget the fact that teachers let all their anger out on the children when they having a bad day and there are some teachers one in specific who's name wont be said has a hatred towards the kids yes a hatred she absolutely hates the new kids I saw the way she treated this one guy just cause he didnt say hes surname loud enough for her liking she took him to the office for "bad behaviour" and she asks for you're name and surname so she knows who to pick on once you get to the grade she teaches so she can pick on you.
Before covid the bathrooms were never clean, almost never toilet paper, the toilet paper was outside the toilet stalls, never soap, sanitary bins filled with sanitary pads and cigarette buds, but honestly never had a case where the bathrooms smelt like marijuana but as soon as you walk out the bathroom you smell like you smoked 50 cigarettes, bathrooms stink.
There are beer bottles in the dust bins that dont get emptied often enough. And those unsteady steps that make you feel like you're gonna fall on you're face.

But jeugland does have it's good sides
Yes you get the good teachers who get their day and get judged on their one bad day for the rest of their career who dont deserve it but unfortunately jeugland only has a handful of teachers like that that honestly deserve the world.
Jeugland has improved the hygiene due to covid there is santizeing before you enter and as you leave the bathroom but their is no dispenser for soap there is only bars of detol soap that is dirty from all the hands that have used it. Their school grounds are always cleaned in the mornings. Sanitizing and social distancing was practised a day before school started so that the kids wouldnt make any stupid decisions.
Teachers seldomly mark any books cause of the contact you make with the kids.
The kids have a lot of spirit and joy once they enter the school grounds they have amazing personalities and impeccable manners, they always greeting with a smile and a heartwarming hand shake or hug.

In the overall I think all schools have their ups and downs but I just think these reviews give the school advice on how to better the school.

For the most part the school is fine, my only complaint is the extreme sexsism that is obliged and enforced by almost all members of staff witch leads to manipulation and confusion in the developing minds of the children witch causes them to believe they are at fault when in fact it is clearly not the case, next is the counts of racism and yet this is a serious problem in most schools I feel the way Jeugland handels it is disgusting. I've seen them separate the different races from each other at recess, maltupile times had the staff members preach about how the diffrent ethnicities should avoid each other all toghter, clearly these methods are very wrong yet is the norm in the school. Jeugland does not try to unite each other in fact they seperate and destroy relations between the diffrent ethnicities and have the odacity to blame the students for anything that goes wrong in that horrific method. I cannot bring myself to understand why they would dehumanize there students in sutch a manner. Swiftly moving on to the next topic is certain teachers in particular abusing students, I personally know of one such staff member, witch will remain anonymous, that has a long history of terrorising and fiscally and mentally abusing students, I've heard cases of this teacher throwing objects at students and lashing out at them for the smallest invalid reason, I cannot understand how this behaviour from an adult is tolerated, it is absolutely horrific and in my opinion this member deserves jail time for the horrific misdemeanors she has committed against her children. On the other hand the rest of the teachers are a mixed batch, some are absolutely wonderful and deserve to be payed as much as a doctor for there effort, others seem like they have lost all hope for there passion. Lastly I'd like to address the bathrooms, and to put it simply it's terrifying, it's terrifying how a place of hygiene can be so badly abused and miss used. Every single bathroom reeks after marijuana and nicotine smoke, there are sigarette buds in mountain piles everywhere, before corona all the bathrooms where overcrowded and loud and the best part? The staff members could not care less about this they could easily walk into the bathrooms and catch multiple students smoking yet they couldn't be botherd it's absolutely horrific how they can tolerate this. Without anything further I conclude my summary, I hope this gives you a bit more detail as to the mental of this school, like I said the school has it's good sides but has absolutely horrific tolerances. I am currently a Matric in Hoërskool Jeugland during Covid-19. My school is handling the pandemic like a champ. Each Bathroom has some ready with handsanitiser, who keeps the amount of people inside the bathroom limited and who make sure you are as safe as possible. Each bathroom as DoE handsoaps while the school supplies no touch handsoaps. Each grade has it’s own entrance gate and there is very clear markers to indicate the appropriate amount of social distancing. As well as stipulated spaces for each grade for before and after school as wel as during break. When you enter or leave a classroom you are required to sanitise your hands. I have read some of the other reviews and do not agree with most of the comments that were dropped. I personally never have been bullied while being at Hoërskool Jeugland as well as my friends. There are obviosly some bad apples but they do not make the school. Jeugland’s teachers are very supportive and sympathetic towards you when you open up about struggles etc. When you respect teachers and do what is expected of you ... teachers tend to form a bond with you. But if you go out of you way to make their lives hell they will not respect you and will constantly make sure you’re doing things right.There is strict rules in the area of smoking but yet students still tend to do it because they feel the school can’t do anything to them. Troublemakers go in and out of disiplinary hearings and still continue to do what they want and the school is not legally strong enough to stop them. Racism is a big problem because Jeugland is a newly duel medium school it is strange for most kids to adjust to a culture they are used to.. this does not justify the racism... but the school is still learning how to react. Honestly I know there is a struggle with the teachers bonding to much on a personal level but I personally have never heard of anything inappropriate happening between students and teachers. Some students know the younger teachers because the are family friends or were matrics when we were younger. Therefor e you cannot judge because there is reasons to explain. I personally love Hoërskool Jeugland and I’m sad that I have to leave.

Firstly the children and teachers are hanging out that is a lot wrong with what reason does a teen want to hang out with a teachers.secondly teachers aren't even dressing school code.Thirdly the bathrooms smells like cigerettes amd weed and also children underage coming to school drunk.There is no hygiene in the bathrooms ect soap to wash your hands.Some teachers is very good educators and some arent even let the children working for a whole week and they are getting lost of time on their education.Theachers also makes children cry or feeling bad about themselves and there is racism included thaf they must stop.The lists carry on too may bad things acctually happening there

The school's architectural state is a mess. Rusted pipes, wobbly stairs on the barely up to code staircases and no toilet paper or mirrors in either bathrooms(girls and boys). The teacher have no back bone to deal with undisciplined children and the principal has the same amount of braincells as a rock. There are also too many students in each class. The bullies rule the school and vandals everywhere.

Baie slegte skool, die skoolhoof het die skool heeltemal in die grond ingedryf. Die onderwysers gee klas in slaapklere, pantoffels en baie stywe broeke en kort hemde. Onderwysers het ook geen idee hoe om met jong mense te werk nie. Ek het myself uit die skool uitgehaal en skole geskuif. Ek sal nie aanbeveel dat enige iemand hulle kinders in die skool sit nie.
