Greenside High School

I am currently in Greenside highschool and so far the experience has and is pretty great. I have got to experience things I never thought could from a school. It is safe and you feel comfortable not only because of the environment but the teachers who are always ready and waiting to hear any and all problems you may have and to top it of they have a psychologist. Overall great

The school does have a lot of interesting activities such as debating and sport. But the main problem is that some of the teachers can be a bit disorganized, not to mention that some of the kids there have a pretty bad attitude towards some peers. They constantly make a ruckus and no one seems to give a damn about what they do. Sometimes I wonder whether or not they actually do realize that their behavior is unacceptable. Although you do get people there who care about their results, these are usually the people who seem so dull about everything, thus it makes it tedious to talk to them. To conclude what I have just said, the school does have some potential to improve, but furthermore it is a pretty fun school to go to.

The amount of bullying and harrassment in greenside is unacceptable. I was a former student there and frankly the teachers do not care about kids being bullied but they will make a huge scene if somebody has incorrect uniform. Amongst the greenside learners there is no discipline, no mannerism and no respect towards one another. I eventually moved out of the school by grade 11 because my peers there were very badly mannered.

Listening to other students from different schools made me realize that I am privileged to be in Greenside High school, the quality of education, the democracy and the environment itself makes me honored and I don't think I could've received a better opportunity to be the better me that I dreamt of becoming. I am truly privileged

Every school has its ups and downs. That's a fact. But its whats on the inside, the teachers, the kids, the family that make it worth while. With Greenside, it comes with stringent rules. That's no doubt. But behind that is a family that will stick together no matter what. Greensiders are taught to have each others backs. With an outstanding nationwide famous drama department that sends kids to the joburg theater, or the sports department that has kids in rallies for days to support their school. Whether its the swim team winning at every gala or the robotics team flying overseas to compete. Its always about or family and the greatness we achieve. There's nothing more. There goes days where we say we don't love each other, but we wouldn't change our school for anything.
