The school has no order
Bunch of liars .
The SGB treasurer is a complete liar , I would even raise concerns on what is actually happening there, they tell you to sign documents which is illegal , they refuse to give you reports if you have outstanding fees, Jacky one of their financial staff lies through her teeth, even the principal secretary suddenly have a memory loss on something that happen 2 days ago. When you go to that school ask if it can be recorded, because they will call you a liar . The Principal Mrs Morgan seems to want to get things right , but her staff seems to be controlling her . My next step is to go to the District office and show effidence I have, and hopefully make a complaint to the chairperson of the SGB.
School dissapointment
It's is very disappointing dealing with the school as the staff unhappy and the school withholds learner report cards due to failing to pay school fees. As far as I knw it is not lawful to do that, lately there a new thing with the new grade 8 learners where their applications is being rejected as they feel certain parents will not be able to pay school fees. I rely hope that someone look into this.
Bad rep from this school
Outdated and ridiculous school rules, Terrible communication from principals, teachers and , head students are rude when i try to raise concerns for bullying . What's the point of paying school fees when the compaints are not take into consideration? Carte Blanche should come here and investigate

Terrible school with bad coordination skills, we waited 4 hours to get our childrens report cards not to mention their head boy telling us if we are in debt we should collect debt forms before getting reports, and my neighbor complained about the school bell ringing at night and the principal along with the head boy, deputy principal and other teachers at the gate gave them the worst attitude. This is a crap excuse for a school
Senior Prefects Review
From One of the head prefects of the school, Glenvista Last year was very shameful, But now with a Permanent Principal the school is transforming back to what it was in the 1900s and early 2000s. Displine is being enforced again.

I was one a of the students here, thank God i left this school , i did better there , Glenvista high was a nightmare for me, i was held by gunpoint outside the school nobody was there to help.#Freedom of Speech
Traffic problems
Every afternoon after school from 14h15 to 15h00 there is absolute chaos around the school when the learners dismiss. Parents park wherever they feel like in the road, in any direction they please. Transport drivers in big vehicles cause the worst problems imaginable. Arrogant learners don't use the scholar crossing but walk in the road. They buy from vendors and couldn't be bothered about the cars in the road. There is no teacher presence at all and no scholar patrol. TOTAL CHAOS JUST LIKE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SCHOOL!!!

what is going on in this school? Really bad experience over the last 2 weeks with serious fights (Kids fighting after school - gate exit). School changing entry & exit points and changing it back.

Glenvista high school is really good when it comes to academics but when it comes to discipline its really bsd the kids even roll joints in class but the teachers leave them in class

Glenvista is really an amazing school. We have a new principal and there's no trouble in that school. We have very supportive and intelligent teachers. The school is diverse and cultured. I recommend kids coming to the school but some might not like it here. There's rude reviews about the school and its not true(They are reviews from last year)Glenvista has improved in so many ways. I really enjoy being in that school.

Management is unapproachable to discuss situation and very aggressive

Room for improvement
Glenvista high is a nice school but there is no improvement the tuition is enough for the school to implement paperless learning or just upgrade certain utilities for instance the entire male student population has to share on bathroom of about 5 stalls that have no locks even though there are three bathrooms. The teachers couldn’t care to enforce mask wearing as they don’t wear them either. Students love it there as it’s a place to rebel and relax but as a parent I do not pay tuition for my child to relax as he can relax elsewhere. Although it’s not the best it’s better than some I’ve seen.
The most Amazing school
All you people that are saying that Glenvista high is terrible are crazy. Glenvista high is a diverse and multicultural community, We have many Supportive and intelligent teachers, like Ms Potgieter, Madanlal etc.. We aren’t perfect but at Glenvista high we are a FAMILY .

This school is a nut case and racists!, u have good and bad people here, highly disorganised, empty promises from deputy principal MK,some teachers and principals are incompetent and rude, that's all i can say 1/5 stars
The school is okay but...
Okay,I have been in this school for four years. For the first three years the school has been average. There is good and sub-par teachers and once in a while the school gets a teacher that is a nut case but ultimately they they get fired after a minimum of two months. Most of the school kids are okay but the problem lies in our recent acting principle MK. Honestly he is useless and is dragging the school down. Ever since he has been here, to be specific, after this covid situation, the school has been highly disorganised and that's his fault. It seems like he is hardly at school doing his job. We always see him enter in the morning then leave literally two hours later and never steps back in. 🙄 About the girl getting beaten up, I assure you that's not exactly what happened. Someone(a rebellious student) threw a boiled egg at her and the shell of the egg got into her eyes. I don't know what happened after that but no teacher had beaten up a student as far as I know. The only thing I can really say is that all the good teachers are living and the school replaces them with useless one. Bye!

Sad poor experience from this high school of Glenvista, i am a parent who knows very well about this school, please don't listen to student's reviews they are ignorant and inexperienced, my daughter was beaten up by a teacher and was humiliated in front of her classroom, i went to the principal to complain, MK the principal who ever he is , is not a responsible principal he said he can't do anything and it's not the school's problem, i paid the school fees every month and this is how they treat me and my daughter, thank God i left this school because they can't seem to handle any situation whatsoever.

Very poor experience please don't listen to student's reviews , they are ignorant and inexperienced, i have to say that i had to disagree with the principal and teachers , my daughter was beaten up and bullied in this school, she needed surgery in her eyes ... i'm so angry , thank goodness i took my daughter out of this school deserves 0 stars. One of the worst high schools in Johannesburg there is no sanitation, rude teachers who don't teach but instead critisise and demotavate as well as very uncooperative and unorganized
Personal experience
The school is not the worst but it definitely needs to change some things. You only get good teachers from grade 11, the school is most definitely diverse and cultured. I would recommend kids coming to the school but some might not like it here

Incompetent, Rude teachers , principals and students. They don't teach subjects instead they thresten my child to leave the school , no encouragement. I have no idea what's wrong with government in South Africa totally degrading students. I am appalled and disgusted with this high school, what's the point of paying school fees ?

I'm a learner doing grade 10 at glenvista high and I just wanna say that there is no better place out there to learn new things and be able to express your true self.Glenvista high is an amazing school with great learning facilities which allows it's learners to exceed in great ways, mentally and physically with Thier variety of sports and academics. It's a school in which teachers come together with their students in order to make sure their students perform their absolute best and reach their full potential.last but not least Glenvista high is also a school in which has had a 98% pass rate for the past 3 years in a row and it is all thanks to the exceptional work of the teachers and learners who work together to get our learners to achieve their greatest goals they have earned.
