Gaia Waldorf School

My son and daughter were both at Gaia Waldorf School and absolutely loved it. My daughter was lucky enough to remain in the Waldorf system - she is currently at Stellenbosch WS and has matured into a well-rounded, emotionally intelligent young woman. The Waldorf system produces free-thinking, confident and creative souls who go onto being socially responsible adults. Gaia WS is one of the more diverse Waldorf schools, made possible by a policy of keeping fees as low as possible, without compromising on quality. If you want your children to love going to school or become impatient for school holidays to be over, send them to Gaia or any other Waldorf school!

Exceptional school. This was one of the greatest investments I could've made. Such a warm, nurturing environment where the child is the main focus.

Beautiful school with the best teachers. Also the most diverse Waldorf school in Cape Town. While Gaia might be younger than some of the other schools, they're still the most progressive while maintaining the original Waldorf standards and values.

This is an amazing school that has done so much for children. My son attended Gaia and is now excelling in high school. The foundation has been laid, and he is set for the future, which I can attest to from personal experience. I have yet to encounter a school where the teachers are so nurturing, committed, and genuinely caring. The time and energy they invest in our children are truly priceless. I was saddened to see that the Gaia "Waldorf" school is not a true Waldorf school when we went to the Spring fair. The toys and crafts were made with acrylic yarn and fabrics. Steiner taught about natural fabrics and their importance. I did not feel any reverence for the space, and when a child started girating to pop music I couldn't stand it any longer and left. Natural instruments with a pentatonic scale is more in Waldorf standing. If the true Waldorf pedagogy was brought in to Gaia it has the potential of being beautiful. This would probably result in growing the school... I went to Constantia Waldorf and have taught Waldorf, so am saddened by this school.
