I was a leaner at Dowerglen high School the teachers are very bad most of them they swear at learners pull learners hair for not tying there hair they want . The male teachers would pull the boys and tell them to shave mustache if not they say they should not come to school. Bullying is really bad there kids drink alcohol to school vapes. Sexual stuff had happened in the school permits. Class rooms are not well cleaned broken windows it's very dusty. Female teachers are good but are really rude to the girls they pull up by the jacket and tell u to pick papers for not having there colour scarf. You can't have anything besides there colours even a hair tie thts pink they take up to the office and get a detention letter. They keep learners in school before they leave to clean the entire field until 3 even tho when school knocks out at two . The principal would walk out the school gate and drag kids back in . She doesn't help kids when needing help. I was getting insulted and being called names by a teacher all she did was to tell me to shush .I didn't have a great experience there with any of the learning at all and the school .
So my experience at Dowerglen High School so far is going good, teachers are kind, respectful and so on...
But the thing that I would like to change is the fact that we don't have sports as a grade 8 I was expecting to be doing a sport in highschool and develop some other talents but we got non of that we don't have:soccer, netball, tennis, rugby, swimming lessons,as a grade 8 I will say again I would like to have new experiences,we haven't even started with P.E,but we see the grade 10's,11's and 12's do P.E and just be asking myself what fun thing do we have in this school, that's all I would like to have a change in and for the swimming lessons we could go to the nearest swimming pool (private) with all the covid requirements and get tought by a teacher in Dowerglen High School.
Being at Dowerglen High School wasn't about me learning. The students were constantly noisy and the teachers just didn't care. I'm not saying that's what the school really was, no, at times we'd have activities but not ones that promote us as people, the learners were very judgemental and no one wanted to be my friend because I was too " weird". They would initiate grade 8 learners into the school by making them fools in front of the other learners," we are the worms of the school" they'd sing, and my heart couldn't help but feel sore for them. My years at Dowerglen only left me with bad self image, low self esteem, depression and so on, because the learners would make me feel stupid and small, especially if u weren't as glamourous as them. It pains me to say this but the teachers never really did anything. The school had no discipline whatsoever, but all that was done is well, nothing. So im not really going to badmouth Dowerglen High School, but i just want everyone to know, u dnt really knw whats happening until u learn there.
