POOR MANAGEMENT - PRIMARY SCHOOL : HIGH TEACHER TURNOVER.

This school could have been exceptional — its facilities are beautiful, the learners are bright, and the parents are supportive. Yet all of that potential is destroyed by the utter incompetence and corruption of the primary school’s management team. The principal, in particular, has turned what should be a place of learning into a breeding ground for fear, manipulation, and distrust.

She is extremely volatile and difficult to work with. There is no real care or compassion for staff — only control. In the first few months of your contract, she will manipulate you into thinking she is supportive and approachable. Once you begin to find your rhythm, she starts weaponising your small mistakes, twisting them to undermine your confidence and reputation. Her leadership style is rooted in fear and favouritism — she rewards those who flatter her or do personal favours and alienates anyone who stands up to her.

To make matters worse, there is a deep undercurrent of corruption. She uses her position for personal gain, often involving her family in school events where they set up stalls and sell goods to parents — with the proceeds quietly pocketed by her. This blatant abuse of her role has become an open secret among staff, yet nothing is done to hold her accountable.

Teachers here are overworked, underpaid, and systematically broken down to ensure their compliance. Salaries are lower than those at other Curro schools, and workloads are deliberately increased to keep staff too drained to seek better opportunities. Even when sick, teachers are told they cannot leave because “the children need a teacher.” It’s exploitation disguised as dedication.

This principal’s behaviour has driven away talented educators and destroyed morale. The school now functions as a revolving door — filled with anxious teachers who love their students but despise the leadership. The sad truth is that the learners and parents deserve far better.

Until the management team — especially the principal — is replaced with ethical, competent leaders, this school will remain a cautionary tale of how greed, ego, and corruption can rot even the most promising institution from the inside out.

Honest opinion.

As a student, I am saddened to say that I am extremely disappointed in the school's management, teaching methods, and environment. The disorganization of the employees has caused daily life to be both frustrating and unproductive. From schedules that are not clear to sudden changes in crucial academic events, the administration repeatedly neglects to offer the necessary organization for students to succeed. This chaos causes students to feel stressed and confused, making it harder for them to succeed in a challenging academic environment without enough support.

The teaching methods used in this place are not very effective. Many teachers use outdated or ineffective approaches, which do not involve students or accommodate various learning styles. Additionally, certain teachers do not possess the necessary skills and level of professionalism needed to provide top-notch education. The lack of hiring highly qualified and experienced teachers has directly affected our academic advancement, leaving numerous students feeling unready and unappreciated.

There is a noticeable absence of empathy and guidance as well. Students frequently feel ignored when they express their worries, whether they are related to academics or personal matters. The absence of authentic backing from colleagues worsens feelings of loneliness and irritation. Furthermore, mental health is not being adequately prioritized, both by the staff and the students. The school setting promotes competition and criticism instead of teamwork and empathy, worsening students’ emotional health.

The failure of this organization to establish a welcoming, conducive, and caring environment has greatly affected the emotional well-being and educational achievements of its students. Immediate and significant changes must be made to enhance the quality of education and the overall well-being of all individuals within this community.
