Collegiate has a toxic environment
I hate Collegiate, their are so many insecure girls at this school, people are arrogant, fake, and snobbish. There is so much belittling at this school and there are people who constantly compare themselves with you. If you don’t have titles or a certain status you are looked down upon. I have so many people who don’t like me and I don’t know why because I’m the most sweetest person and I have never been rude or mean to anyone I always try to give people benefit of the doubt but now I have had enough!! Collegiate is a toxic environment to be in, yes the school itself is very good, prestige and good at academics, sports, cultural activities, it basically an all rounder but the girls at the school or just something else. I would never recommend this school to anyone. Everyday of a Collegiate school day I feel like I am living in a hell hole, I can’t wait until I get out of this school.

The school is great and most of the faculty are phenomenal. However, some teachers are racist and some cannot even teach their syllabus. Most girls are entitled and will not accept you if you do not have money or if you are steadfast in your beliefs and morals. Unfortunately these factors are never dealt with as many of the problem students have influential parents (money).
When the girls of the college feel they are mistreated or have an issue they want to find a solution for, they are shut down by their fellow students and particular staff members.
Race has always been an issue within the school and from a white students perspective who is a strong supporter of racial equality, I am disgusted by how many of the black students are treated by our piers. I feel they are not respected by teachers as they do not even try and pronounce their cultural names correctly and they are sometimes even brushed to the side as if they weren't even there. When our black students try and celebrate their culture by dancing and singing, some even merely just speaking in their mother tongue they are told they are disrespectful and rude , but if a white student speaks in afrikaans they are seen as intellectual and superior. Some teachers say that this is correct as the girls of colour need to learn afrikaans (some girls having it be their 4th or 5th language,making it really hard to learn another).
I hope that one day in the very near future these things will change, because it would be a shame if this school that has been around for over 100 years turns to dust because of ignorant entitled individuals.

It's to much work I can't cope
I love Collegiate!
I am in the hostel at Collegiate Girls High School and I absolutely love it! Collegiate has such an amazing vibe. The teachers being some of the best in the country and with some of the best classroom facilities around! Collegiate is such a fun and exciting environment with so many girls who end up being your best friends for life. Collegiate is excellent in sport, academics and music and is such an amazing school!
I absolutely love it, if you have to send your daughter to school soon I would highly recommend Collegiate !

When I attended, the teachers were ignorant of the child’s emotional well-being. There were only white teachers. The person who wrote - review that “this school is amazing” is most likely white.
I’m not sure if it is different, most probably not yet.
