Bridgeway School presents itself as a Christian-based institution, but concerns have been raised about its management practices and questions about academic integrity and financial priorities suggest student needs may not always come first.
If you're considering enrolling your child I would strongly suggest asking the following key questions to get a clear picture of the school’s values, academics, management, and student support. This will help you make a more informed decision.
- Do educators have the necessary experience for effective instruction?
- How does management treat their staff as this can affect teaching negatively?
- What is the average teacher tenure/turnover at the school and why? (this has been alarming in the past)
- Has there been any past CCMA cases with educators?
- How are student assessments moderated to ensure accuracy and fairness?
- Can I see a breakdown of how grades are determined?
- How does the school handle academic support for struggling learners?
- How are Christian values incorporated into everyday school life including towards its staff?
- How does the school handle conflicts or discipline in line with its Christian ethos?
- How accessible is the principal or director for parent concerns?
- How are major school decisions communicated to parents?
- How are school fees allocated — how much goes toward student enrichment versus administration?
- Are there any hidden costs or regular additional fees?
- What is the school’s approach to mental health and emotional support?
- How does the school address bullying or exclusion?
- Are there opportunities for student leadership and development?
- How does the school prepare students for university or the workforce?
- What kinds of extracurricular or enrichment programs are offered?
- Are the school's values consistently upheld at all levels — from management to educators, and from educators to students?
-hiring of unqualified teachers. The principal and all the teachers are rude. Don't get me started on the racism and homophobia. The school is tiny, and how do kids survive on 1 toilet throughout the whole damn school. This thing of banding in phones aid also so stupid.
There's no sports, no events basically nothing fun. The principal and the other teacher constantly pick on black learners and I even have a recording of them saying nasty things.
The place smells bad, there's no tuck shop, the fees are ridiculous for a school or house that has nothing to offer. You might think it's a nice school by the reviews but the staff are the only people giving the school 5 starts and I won't be surprised if they take down this review because they constantly take down bad reviews. If you hate yourself then you'd come here. What a mess!!! I also heard of a teacher talking sexually to a learner and the teachers is not even qualified. How the heck did the department of education allow such. Smell the coffee people
