Life in Athlone Girls High

It's a very good school to be honest. The comfortability and security within the school is great. You learn a lot about molding yourself into the woman you really want to be. If you don't like to work you will have a hard time. We always pushing for great academic results. All in all, I enjoy being there and it's perfect for your daughter.

My experience at AGHS

My experience at Athlone Girls' High school molded me into the young confident woman I am today. The school does not only strive for academic excellence but it creates a good environment for a young girl to find herself. I, personally, never thought I would manage in an all girls school but believe it or not it was the perfect environment for me to grow in knowing who I am and embracing the beauty which I behold without having the need for validation, especially from boys.
On a more general note, the school prioritizes academics above anything else, sports and other cultural activities are available to all, although acknowledging that there is room for improvement in the consistency of the extra curricular activities.
Overall I am grateful for my journey at Athlone and I would most definitely recommend it to any girl.

Athlone Girls High School

I was a student at athlone girls from 2015 to 2019 so this school has played a huge factor in who I've become now. The school has a wonderful welcoming procedure for the Grade 8 students which includes a tour, concert and sleepover so a sense of belonging and unity can be established between the classmates. Matric/ grade 12 students also have their own events such as matric dance, matric prize giving and matrics also get to design their matric jacket that is to be worn for the year. The school also houses the most dedicated group of educators I have ever seen. The teachers are always available if you have any questions during lunch breaks or after school. Although they are a bit lacking in the sports department they have been trying to improve it. The chess team has competed provincially on several occasions and a netball team was just formed last year.
