Deeply disappointed Gr12 parent - Abbotts High School Centurion

What was meant to be a proud and memorable milestone for our Grade 12 learners turned into an evening of utter disappointment and frustration. As a parent, I am disgusted and heartbroken at how Abbotts College Centurion handled the Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony.

Parents were sent invitations and asked to RSVP, a gesture that naturally built anticipation for an evening of celebration and recognition. Yet, on the night (23 October 2025), while some learners were being called to receive their certificates and awards, others sat in confusion and embarrassment, only to be told on the spot that part-time students would not be recognised. To make matters worse, it was explained that only those who had been part-time students for at least two years would qualify.

This decision is both inconsiderate and unfair. Parents took time out of their busy schedules, many traveling long distances to proudly witness their children take a final bow before their exams, only to be left humiliated and disrespected. The money paid by part-time students is no different from that of full-time learners, so why the double standards?

If there was a policy excluding part-time learners from recognition, it should have been clearly stated in the invitation or communicated beforehand. Instead, families were blindsided in the most public, disgusting and painful way. Watching the disappointment and confusion on the faces of our children, who have worked hard, produced strong results, and looked forward to this day was devastating.

Abbotts College Centurion owes EVERY Grade 12 learner and their parents a sincere apology. This was supposed to be a celebration of achievement and perseverance, not a night of humiliation and exclusion.
Shame on you, Abbotts Centurion, for turning what should have been a beautiful send-off into an experience that left such a bitter taste in so many mouths. You don't even deserve this one star!

Be careful

Careful of this school. They only care about money and not students. The run the school as a business only, and not an educational business.

A lot can be improved as they have a lot of potential.

I have had a great experience

Abbotts has really taught me to be more self-disciplined and more responsible for myself (as the school has no bells so you really need to accountable for yourself in terms of getting to class in time ). The school is really attentive to individual needs ( there are homework sessions where you able to communicate with the teacher if you dont understand and you are also able to communicate with the teacher from home if you are still struggling, learners have their teacher's numbers) which has helped me excellence in my academics.
