Redhill School

Having attended Redhill School for 16 years (pre-primary: 1988 to high school: 2003) starting my enrollment at a politically charged time in South African history (1988), the inclusivity of the school gave me (a student of colour) the best well rounded and balanced education that ultimately lead to me becoming Headboy of Redhill Primary School in 1998 and pushing the boundaries of my personal development and growth. Being a small sized school made it difficult for us to compete with bigger schools in sports but the favourable student-to-teacher ratio combined with the school's strong emphasis on the need to balance sports, cultural activities, academic achievement and charity / social work meant that all students were given equal opportunity to get the right amount of attention to achieve greater than whatever their own motivations would allow. Redhill is simply the best school in South Africa. No doubt. Redhill produces a well rounded student both academically and socially; the balance of academics, sport and culture is peppered with an intrinsic respect from both teachers and students.

Redhill was an exceptional institution. It is a great pity that its headmaster and adult leadership have dampened the culture of family and empathy that used to exist, in favour of making the school "look good in the headlines". The teachers and facilities, however, remain top-standard.

Great school, if you’ve got a passion for arts, drama and other cultural activities. Often feel like not enough is put into sports but that seems to be changing slowly

Redhill is the perfect school for a great balance of academic, culture and sporting. The school prides itself in its inclusivity and future forward approach. Unlike any other school, Redhill preps is for the real work and I would not want to be at any other place. Redhill ROCKS!
